For one side, I also relate to feeling insecure because I'm not chubby attractive, and do get VERY jealous of beautiful plus size woman. I'll still take more variety in fiction tbh, especially because it wasn't even that there wasn't any fat people, just that most of the time they were portrayed as deeply unpleasant, especially when woman.
