I got pretty used to them for so long that their general existence doesn’t bother me so much.

But inserting jarring breaks randomly into a show or movie is awful. It’s really not the same as TV shows that are actually cut around ad breaks or the ads before a film in the cinema.

I get annoyed when the ads are cut out and then you see the same bit of dialogue both before and after where the ad break was.

Yeah, that feels like a weird little glitch.

I don’t mind it so much, but it is nice when they take the time to re-edit for streaming without ads.

worst? watching old shows (e.g. Buffy, Star Trek, various sitcoms) on their own dedicated channels on things like Samsung or Sling where the "channel" doesn't start and end on the hour/half hour, so the episodes are staggered, and the ad breaks are literally whenever. They break in at random spots, it could be in the middle of a crucial scene or it may be within a minute of either side of an original show pause for a commercial spot. It's infuriating.

That is the worst. I haven’t watched much like that, but I remember it being terrible.

This is my biggest pet peeve with them. Honestly, I've resigned myself to having them, but could they at least be inserted at natural scene breaks and not in the middle of a fricking line?
