I've been told that in Islamic countries where multiple marriage is common, having more than one wife is a status symbol because you have to be able to provide financially for each wife, and not bare bones either. And there is some serious organization going on.

(I was told this by my mother, who came from the Soviet Union where there were/are Muslim states that practice multiple marriage. And she mentioned it because she said that back when her kids were little, she and another mom were commiserating about how damn nice it would be to have another woman around to tend to their husbands because they were both so tired from the child-rearing.)

Which seems a hell of a lot better than some US SisterWives bullshit where a bunch of women are supporting one worthless man and are supposed to be happy about it.
