I feel the same way, and I judge myself for it! Is my brain just that much corrupted by capitalism? Then again, I'm an old millennial who grew up watching broadcast tv, so commercial breaks are familiar.

I'm GenX and I hate ads.

Well, the only time I don't mind them as much is during sports events as a bathroom/drinks break.

It's adding like 17 minutes to a show!

I'm still bummed that ad blockers stopped working (mostly) on YouTube.

I use Twitter and FB with blockers on laptop only so I don't have to see ads.

DA

UBO still works on youtube, though sometimes youtube manages to detect it for a couple of days. In that case, just open it up in incognito mode with UBO still activated and it works just fine until UBO can get youtube shoved back into line.

All of this is predicated on the assumption that you don't use chrome.

I'm Gen-X and I despise ads. I remember when cable tv was new and some channels had no commercials. That was cable's original appeal: pay a subscription to get commercial-free television. Then, cable providers got greedy and forced commercials onto subscribers once they had a monopoly on the market.

And then movie theaters started playing commercials at the beginning of movies. :/

Gen X here and can’t stand ads. We don’t pay extra for streaming without ads, instead we just cancel them once they introduce ads. Nothing on any of them is worth the aggravation for my household.
