I Had a commie history teacher back in school - not like hyperbole, an actual open and avowed communist - who used to try to sell us a whole load of bullshit every class. Cromwell beat the crown and no matter what else he did he made england a better place was one of them. She also had a lot of good shit to say about stalin and mao. She was, as it turned out, fucking insane tho. I didn't know it at the time but it didn't take long to figure out her leaning was colouring her ability to teach history.
