I have never heard of this but that screencap has sold me on the movie/show and the ship. Yum!

Gargoyles, a Disney Cartoon from the 90s. Many voice actors from Star Trek TNG are in it. The dude in the image is the villain and voiced by Commmander Riker. Also involved is Worf, Data and Dianna Troy. Oh! And Captain Janeway!

You can watch it on Disney Plus. Highly recommend. Before ATLA, this was top tier "smart" children's entertainment.

Thanks, I’m already watching it LOL This came out after my time and I didn’t even own a TV let alone have cable back in 94. I’d never heard of it until just now, which is a shame. The animation is gorgeous and I love how dark they went with subject matter.

Sometimes if you talk about what seems like a basic storytelling element that would be trivial to use, someone chips in and goes “cartoons didn’t even have that until Gargoyles.” They do the same thing with live-action TV and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

You have inspired me to watch Gargoyles :)

Oh, Goliath and Xanatos have got a lot of interesting and dynamic tension for sure. I'm not sure I'm into it romantically, but you could definitely do a lot with it as a romantic ship!
