The secret doesn’t say current era, though. It says modern era, implying a prolonged period without any new material until after cultural shifts take place. And we know that isn’t true for at least two of them.

That seems like a pedantic difference without a difference interpretation you have. You've clearly grasped the concept behind the typo.

The modern or current era of the shows is coming to an end, and they are all going to be pausing for a while before a retooling or rebooting or refocusing, whatever "re" you want to use to mark the shows pausing before going off in a different direction in search of a bold new audience to replace the ones that have fallen away. You've grasped the concept, you agree with the concept, you just don't like the concept.

Nayrt but no. Modern era means a specific thing in these fandoms and it's not what you suggest.

It is exactly what it is I don't know what you think it is.

Modern era and current era aren’t the same thing. Modern is much broader than current. For instance, 2015 media is modern. There has been little change in how media is produced, delivered, the common themes, and audience attitudes. Current era is much narrower and current is a specific time: it’s happening right now. It’s happening within the modern era but it isn’t all of the modern era.
