I’m showing my age here but my top three are Pump Up the Volume, Empire Records, and Dazed and Confused.

These days I am more likely to enjoy the score than the soundtrack but the only one I can remember purchasing is Pirates of the Caribbean and I haven’t listened to it in forever.

Pirates of the Caribbean goes fucking hard and it grinds my gears every time people attribute it to Hans Zimmer. It was Klaus Badelt working under the general management of Zimmer. It only had Zimmer's name on it after it succeeded. All the first releases say Music by Klaus Badelt. *old woman shakes fist at cloud*

I should specify, Curse of the Black Pearl only. Badelt was sidelined/stepped aside after the success and Zimmer took over.

Yup. I hate that Badelt gets sidelined and ignored. And also, the first one is better than the others. And that one was mainly him. Then again, I think Zimmer tends to be ovverrated. He's done some amazing ones (Lion King, Gladiator), but he's also done some not good ones (Dune). He's hit or miss for me.

AYRT
I’m not in the fandom and don’t think I’ve ever seen that! If it makes you feel better, Klaus Badelt is the artist name they use in iTunes. I just checked my iPod from 2004 that hasn’t been connected to a computer in over 20 years and it’s still his name so it looks like they never credited Zimmer.
