Yeah, tumblr can be hit or miss depending on who you follow or who you block. I've found that it's easier to curate than other sites though. I'm glad reddit's positive on this one. Most of my experience is from various other fandoms, and it's highly variable depending on how big the subreddit is and whether the mods actually enforce any rules.

Yeah, I love tumblr for block function. Also it is a bit satisfying when you see someone with rancid take and you can just blacklist the hell out of them.
Yes, reddit communities are a gamble, but some are delightfully nerdy.
