And he's still contracted to publish however many more.

Until he drops his contract, or his contract drops him, I think it's fair to say, every now and then, "maybe get off your ass and do the job you're being paid to do".

I was unaware he was in a legally binding contract with fans. If you're talking about his publishing house, are you sure? Do you know the details of the contract he signed? Was it for a specific number of books? He has written prequels and depending on how his contract is worded, he may have fulfilled the letter of the contract. Was there a specific date by which he had to deliver a manuscript? Even if he's still under contract in a concrete way, the fans still don't get to dictate how his publishers deal with any breeches.
