The amount of grizzled old dudes supposedly in their mid-30s in Final Fantasy makes me laugh so hard. Like yeah, sure okay. Cid and Auron are bitter, grizzled 35 year old men. Whatever you say, Square. XDD

I dunno man, I gotta say I FEEL the age Auron looks as I approach the end of my 30's...

But as to your point - And there really is no way to say this that wont give people ammunition to use against me - when it comes to fictional characters age really is just a number. Like the 13 year old who looks like a 20 something gravure model, the 13 year old looking housewife who is actually 35. Jojo being a teenage apparently... Whatever the fuck is going on with Cid Highwind...

I mean a good chunk of that is likely localization, maybe, but even if not I gotta ask myself how much it matters. Their age isn't really important since there's not any real alcohol being served, what matters is the story telling and the roles they serve in the story.

TL;DR I agree, I think people need to really try and remember that fiction can only affect reality through the actions of people who cannot tell the difference.
