I just haven't found a longfic that was actually good lately.

But I feel you on the exhaustion. I've been working on getting my attention span for reading actual books back and I am a little horrified at how hard it is. But I'm determined! I've read 10 books so far this year (7 of those being Dungeon Crawler Carl), but have been in a slump the past couple months and have crept back to devouring fanfic instead. I gotta find a good book to grab my attention but they've all been striking out lately.

I haven't seen decent long fic in ages.

What's longfic to you, OP? I have read great 100k+ fic even recently, but I've come to realise that fic of 200k words or more are often just not worth it. It's a very "this could have been an email" sort of feeling - at that length, chances are the author is just waffling about rather than the story actually needing that sort of word count.

I'm with you on this. Concentration is sooo hard.
