My mother is dying.

We thought she'd beaten the odds on cancer. All tests showed clear. Suddenly, they find out it hid somehow. Tests didn't detect the brain cancer she had. Then, they did.

Three to six months.

Fuck.

Oh no. I'm so, so sorry nonny. That really sucks. Losing a parent is the worst. I'm so sorry for you and your family.

I’m sorry. I lost my dad a couple of weeks ago to complications following stage 4 colon cancer surgery, so I understand what you’re going through. It sucks.

I'm so overexhausted. I'm on vacation and with family, but all I want to do is sleep. I just wish I had more energy in me to enjoy the break more.

We're having a summer of really hot weather plus frequent thunderstorms and it's been tough watching my poor dog tremble and shiver every time he hears rain now. I don't really want to drug him into unconsciousness because we've had weeks where it rained/stormed EVERY DAY. But he doesn't like the thunder jacket, and the thing we bought him to cover his ears isn't very comfortable. I don't blame him for not wanting to wear it, but when the storm starts he's petrified and won't do anything except crouch near me, shaking and panting heavily. He won't eat or drink while it's going on, either.

I never cared about thunderstorms before I got a dog. I even liked them. Now it's like fuuuuuuuuuck my week/month/summer is one long stressful shitshow because it won't stop raining.
