lmao, same, OP.
I never saw the anime but I tried reading it when I was in my teens (cis woman here fyi), and it was sooo... painfullyyyyy... boys-oriented! Even for me, who at the time was huge One Piece fan, watched and mostly liked Bleach and read Naruto. I managed 3 volumes, then dropped it.
I don't look down on the ppl who like it, but personally think that we won't be friends since our tastes in fiction are apparently very different.

This secret is so odd to me, and so is this comment. The series is bad because it's...for boys? And you can...only be friends with people of the same gender as you?

I meantioned other shounens I liked at the time to point out I liked things "for boys". I just think Dragonball sucks compared to others.
