I don't keep up with conservatives. I'm guessing the argument goes something like "wasn't it great when wokeness didn't prevent writers from using offensive terms for the sake of authentic portrayals?"

I've never seen what you describe. Which doesn't mean it's not happening of course but I personally have never encountered this. I have seen liberals trying to make publishers censor the N-word though which is also really dumb.
