I'll say, the closest I've come to that is when my mom and I watched Downton Abbey and Poldark (hmm, both on PBS, hey everyone go support PBS). Even when I moved into my own house, we'd still make sure we watched the show when it was on and we'd be on Skype with our running commentary. It was SO NICE to have something like that to look forward to regularly.
Nowadays she'll record shows on Dish and when I visit on the weekends we'll watch the latest episode of whatever shows. Almost the same. But not quite.

I think what I do actually miss is the monoculture, and talking about a new episode of something like The X-Files at work the next day because there were only a few things that people could have watched on TV that night. It brought us closer together.
