A central vacuum system for my house.

Basically, there is a motor mounted in my basement. PVC piping goes from it to three spots upstairs. There is a little hatch or access point in two walls, where I flip the cover down and plug in a hose. As I plug it in, the motor starts, creating suction. The hose has a wand with several heads (brush one for hard floors, flat one for upholstery or rugs, crevice tool, small brush). And...I vacuum! There's no dust and whatnot flying around like a broom, I don't have to plug it in like an upright vac or push this stupid, heavy thing around, that won't go under stuff.
I can lift it to get cobwebs or cat hair that's on the wall or whatever, use it on my ceiling fans, in the window crevices.... Pretty quiet because the motor is downstairs, and the hose is long enough that I only need the two access points to cover my whole house.
The third spot is a 'dustpan' under the counter in my kitchen that I can open with a push from my foot, and I can use a broom to sweep things into it, like if I spilled flour or something on the floor, I don't have to get the hose out, I can just sweep it into the dustpan and then close it, and the motor shuts of automatically.
Grew up with one, and always liked it a million times better than broom or regular vac. Doesn't make my allergies go haywire, either!

I've never heard of that, but it sounds so cool!

Wow! We have a system like this at my workplace, didn't know you can get it done at home! Sounds amazing to have.
