In a fantranslation of a novel I'm reading, the translator's English isn't very great but beggars can't be choosers and all. But there's one character who has a musical instrument and the translation keeps switching between a qin and a pipa ever second to third mention and it drives me crazy, like - what is it? Those are very different instruments!
