Yeah, OP, I feel you. This is the exact reason I left GI, and then Wuwa. My hopes now are for Arknights: Endfield since Arknights, while still having more girls in it, has a lot of male characters also. (Like in current event there a two main 6☆ operators, a boy and a girl. Feels more even.)

Apparently the plan was always to have a 2:1 ratio of female to male characters in GI and up to a certain point, I didn't really mind so much because the designs were okay (even though someone on that design team always had a serious naked thigh fetish) and not wanting a lot of the female characters meant it was easier to save up for the characters I actually wanted. But after Natlan, it really got much worse - ratio-wise, design-wise and gooner-fanservice-wise. Which is basically when the CEO switched so.... yeah, not surprising.
I'm going to continue playing it because I'm playing with a friend and because of sunk cost but Natlan in general was so massively underwhelming for me that I was very close to quitting several times.
