That's kind of what happens with fandom friends. You connect over a common interest and when that common interest goes away, often so do the friends.

Not all fandom friends are forever. Not all friends are forever. That’s life. I get that it can be painful but you’re blaming someone in fandom for only wanting to discuss fandom with you and that’s just wild.

This. It's like meeting someone on the golf course and then being upset that they primarily want to talk about golf.

I've stopped talking to fandom friends due to lack of common interests. It is what it is.

I also stopped talking to friends IRL because our lifestyles didn't match up.

It's just one of those things in life where you know when to let some relationships fade or end. Some people may return later, other may not, but that's life.
