I saw it for my birthday this year and it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You'll have such a blast!

Irony of all ironies... I got the tickets for my eighteenth birthday. xD I picked it over Phantom of the Opera which shocked the hell out of my family.

I haven't regretted it for a second. Legally Blonde is definitely one of my favourite musicals. ~~And I don't even like the movie all that much.~~

I don't like the movie; it's shallow and there's no depth to Elle or the Elle/Emmett relationship in my opinion. Plus, whereas in the musical it fits with the glossy/unrealism (hello, they break into song!) that Elle figures it out and saves the day because of perming knowledge, in the movie, it felt to me that they were in fact just undermining Elle's actual intelligence, because, duh! she figured it out she because she's a girly-girl, rather than that she has a brain.

IAWTC. A lot. I didn't like Reese Witherspoon's Elle. She was way too froufrou for me. And while Emmett was a lot more attractive in the movie [the Emmett in the cast I'm seeing looks a lot more like movie!Emmett than the original Broadway one] I was kind of blinking when I saw the movie, which I didn't watch until after I got into the musical, because I was wondering where all the Elle/Emmett went.

Yeah, I kind of... can't help but to eyebrow at the irony of the situation. She really only won that case because she knew about perms, and, OMG HOW COINCIDENTAL. I also love the girls way more in the musical than the movie, and, sorry, I didn't think the Bend and Snap scene was as good as it was in the song. :\ Also Laurabell Bundy is WAY PRETTIER than Reese Witherspoon.

My biggest regret is that when it originally came out, I was like 'pfft, Legally Blonde' and didn't watch the Musical. I didn't get into it until almost a year later. I really wish I'd been able to see the original cast, sob. That's what I get for being a snob.

Oh, I can one-up you, LOL! I knew LBB from an earlier acting experience of hers and was very negative about her, I thought her untalented, unattractive, a bad actress and a bad singer. When she was nominated for a Tony, I rolled my eyes and thought VERY unflattering thoughts as to how she managed it. And then on a whim, I downloaded the CD. BOY, WAS I WRONG! She deserved the nom and everything I thought about her was proven categorically wrong.

What really bums me out is that I missed LBB doing the touring show by a few weeks. Sniff, sniff! The tour Elle was good, but I think LBB is prettier, a better actress and a much better singer. (Admittedly the tour Paulette and professor were much better in the touring production than the obc.)

I agree w/ every word re: the movie. EVERY WORD!
