Hey, me too! I vaguely knew that there was this young blonde woman acting in Euphoria and I just assumed she also had a singing career.

That's one of those controversies that makes you go, "wow, people are desperate to find reasons to be offended by things, aren't they?"

I will say I think my favorite thing about it was a video (can't remember if it was a Reel or TikTok) I came across by a black woman who was like, "this is the first step to lynching happening again, and what good white people can do to help is to CashApp me money so I can afford protection." I really, really wanna know how many white people fell for it.

For one thing I think it's smart marketing, because I'm not from the US, I'm pretty sure they don't even sell American Eagle here, and I know the brand name. I also think their marketing department knew exactly what they were doing, because blonde, white, attractive + mention of genes = guaranteed strong reaction. They expected people to get offended. They were banking on it. So I don't think people are desperate to find things, they were sort of manipulated in doing so.

Assuming they were manipulated, it wouldn't have worked if they weren't already looking for things to get offended by.

The American Eagle commercial was a bad rip-off of Calvin Klein's commercials with Brooke Shields.

I don't really care about either of them. *shrugs*

Aw, Sabrina's a good egg. I'm not a fan of her acting or singing; I don't pay them any mind. BUT-- She's raised over a million dollars for LGBTQ+ charities so far this year.
