(Anonymous) 2025-08-22 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)I've already read Dungeon Crawler Carl - blew through the whole series a little too fast and now I am bereft and looking for my next read.
Genres: I generally read scifi/fantasy, not big on romantacy or the type but will read romance, nonfiction is hit or miss but I'll give it a try if someone says they loved something.

(Anonymous) 2025-08-22 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)Some older KU works you might enjoy are:
Benjamin Ashwood by AC Cobble (classic sword and sorcery fantasy minus the misogyny)
Cradle series by Will Wight if you’re interested in cultivation litrpg
Mark of the Fool (I forgot the author) (progression fantasy)
The Time Bubble Series by Jason Ayers (sci fi and the first book is borderline YA but even if you hate YA it’s still worth it because the rest of the series is phenomenal)
Jason Ayers writes some other books in the same universe as the Time Bubble that are worth reading after you finish the main series.
Ranger’s Apprentice by John Flanagan is a decent tale of a kid’s transformation from orphan to ranger
Rise of the Ranger series by Philip Quaintrell - I don’t remember this one as well, I think it was a mix of Chosen One Ranger trope and classic sword and sorcery.

(Anonymous) 2025-08-23 02:34 am (UTC)(link)Also I keep running into people recommending the Cradle series. It didn't seem like my thing, but the overwhelming love for it is making me think I should check it out. Which, incidentally, is how I ended up finally reading DCC so maybe I should follow that instinct more often.

(Anonymous) 2025-08-23 02:10 pm (UTC)(link)Cradle is often recommended but I think it’s only good if you’re really into cultivation. I stumbled across it years ago and only made it 3-4 books in. I picked it up again recently and only managed to get a few pages past where I dropped it before. I love a lot about the premise but the story isn’t an enjoyable read for me, if that makes sense.
Having said all that, it’s definitely worth checking out on KU and then dropping it if it isn’t for you.
