AYRT
I totally get it. FOMO has cost me a lot as a collector and a few years ago I had to stop buying the limited edition stuff because it had gotten out of hand. Every company (and TS as well as other business savvy entertainers) knows they can make a lot of money in a short time by releasing a limited run of something, ideally with multiple variants. They win, the scalpers win, and the collectors are often too busy scrambling for the next thing to even care about the one they just got. That’s how it was for me, anyway. And a lot of people in my community were in the same boat and started setting limits. Once I followed their example, I discovered I didn’t care anymore. I still buy the general release stuff sometimes but it’s impossible to be a completionist after sitting out once so all the stress and financial burden are gone.

If you’ve got the money and you enjoy collecting, go for it! If you don’t, then take a break. If the stuff is truly collectible, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to buy it on the second hand market. You may pay a bit more for it and you may not. Personally, I view the extra cost as a convenience fee and I’m ok with spending a little extra for skipping the stress and being able to buy when it’s convenient for me.
