AI voiceover will get me to drop just about any video. But I also have my own idiosyncratic standards for pet videos and what type of animal “translation” or subtitling I’ll accept.

100% agreed. Cute animals are cathartic. Stupid AI voices are not.

No to overdubs, but I do like ridiculous subtitles, like "I eat ur face!" when one kitten feebly attacks another and tries to chomp their face.

Same but it doesn't even have to be AI voiceovers, I'm even annoyed by voicing animals with subtitles if they type in that supposedly cutesy "hooman" speak.

For the AI dubbing, it may not be their fault, it's on by default. Youtube also slaps an AI filter on shorts, without warning the creators or asking them.

I recently watched something on youtube while not logged in and damn, not only were there so many shitty AI shorts, every video suddenly had an auto-AI-translated voiceover, it was such a whiplash.
