I may have missed something here, but Genshin Impact is a Chinese game, so why would people say that the JP VAs are the "correct" ones?

Because they see the anime art style and think that means Japanese is Correct.

They also like shitting on the EN voiceover and take any opportunity to talk about how much better JP is.

Yeah, I think it's "anime style game + Japanese sounding title in the west = Japanese game". Doesn't help that the official Twitter account only ever lists the EN and JP VAs with new character promos.

That's what the secret is about - people are playing with the Japanese dub and saying that's the "original" (and thus better than the English dub) but in fact the original language is Chinese.
