I then watched the TV series because I might as well.
Season 1 Aziraphale was good. A little more fanservice-y than the book, but I didn't mind, I like Aziracrow as much as anyone.
Season 2, though... I think I like this character best when there's an actual plot going on, not a literal coffee shop matchmaking fic. He felt way more juvenile than he did in either the book or Season 1.
On the bright side, I won't be spending exorbitant amounts of money on fan merch for him, I suppose.
Bonus secret: I cannot see TV!Crowley being the top in their relationship. He's so needy. I think he'd love to be spoiled and/or spanked in bed by an angel. His angel, rather.
Fanart credit goes to hattersarts on Tumblr.

That opinion on S2 Aziraphale seems pretty close to the fan consensus I've seen.

(Anonymous) 2025-09-02 10:46 am (UTC)(link)If I'd only seen S1, I'd agree with you, yeah. I think S2 Crowley and Tennant playing him as though he were constantly being consumed by longing changed the game, though. In some respects he was giving off "heartsick maiden, never been in love before" more than "cool, seasoned demon" from S1. Which leads to audience members like myself thinking that he might be socially dominant, but submissive in a relationship.
