Except Joss's stuff isn't even popular. it's liked among the same couple of million (if that many) who will eat up his shit not matter what.

And what, last I checked there were more than 3 channels. Everything doesn't have to appeal to a mainstream audience anymore. There's room for people to enjoy different things.

I really don't get the butthurt of people who don't like Joss. It's like they are offended that he exists and has fans. What the hell.

then he should stick to the web or try to sell a show to a cable network, 'cause right now his major network show is bombing. his formula only worked once, it's not going to work again.

I agree it's more suitable for cable, on maybe SyFy or something, which makes me sad because its doubtful that it will make the switch. I think Joss needs to stop being so damn loyal to Fox. But I think it's a good show nonetheless -- just not meant for the non-science fiction audience.

I'm not 100 percent sure, but I think he had to do multi-series contract with FOX to get...one of those shows. (I don't know why I always all-caps FOX, it just comes out that way...)

I remember something like Dollhouse coming about because of a contract Eliza Dushku had with Fox? And that Fox technically owned Buffy and Angel, so there's probably truth to the idea that he got Firefly because he already had a contract of sorts with them.

It keeps shows on the air? Yes, I want the shows I like to get good demos and ratings so they won't get canceled. If you want Joss to have another shot a tv show, you should want more people besides his base to enjoy it.

And no, I don't always like things that are wildly popular. I'd rather pull my eyelashes out than sit through another second of Big Bang Theory.
