...is that mpreg Snape/Harry art? My non-Potter fandom self is shocked and amused.

Listen OP, we all have things that gross us out. As long as you're not out there telling people they shouldn't write the things you find distasteful then it is all good.

oh you sweet summer child

snarry was HUGE

probably the biggest slash ship in the fandom after harry/draco and remus/sirius. there's 17K of it on Ao3 and tons was lost in purges and fandom decay before ao3 existed and was never ported over there

100% agree. Pregnancy in general is a massive squick for me and honestly one of the reasons I mostly read m/m and f/f. I hate it, regardless of whether it is regular pregnancy or mpreg.

Same. I just don't want to read about pregnancy and birth.

Yup. Exactly.

I am not at all interested in reading het pregnancy stuff and I used to be squicked by mpreg, but now I don't...mind it? If the story is good, it's fine.

I only accept it in fandoms where it's possible because of sci-fi or magic spell or whatever, though. I just can't understand mpreg in like, Suits fandom.

I'm a fan of mpreg OP xD, but it is only for certain ships and canons. If a setting is too close to realistic I can't get into it because the 'this doesn't happen' part of my brain is too loud to ignore, but if the characters aren't even human? Anything goes lol. And I have no desire at all to be pregnant, so it's not even that appeal to it either.

But carry on hating it OP, you're fine.

I think my feelings about Mpreg are basically my feelings about all pregnancy stories: slightly uncomfortable, mostly uninterested.

Has anyone else noticed less Mpreg fanfiction lately compared to a decade ago? I can't tell if it's an actual trend or if I'm just reading in different fandoms.

I feel like the Whacky Coincidence/Body Horror Mpreg has been absorbed by A/B/O and "trans"fic for the most part

(Anonymous) 2025-09-25 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
I agree, it's just not my thing at all. Especially Mpreg. This secret is grossing me out because that image is utterly disgusting.

I hate pregnancy but I can tolerate cis mpreg if it's for comedic purposes. Otherwise, hell no.

(Anonymous) 2025-09-25 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
Pregnancy is basically body horror level squick for me as is and mpreg amps this feeling up to 11 because HELL no that's not supposed to be.

Pregnant Harry looks too much like John Lennon

I've never liked mpreg. Now, if one of the parties is a trans man, I can get behind it a little more, but I just can't when it comes to two cis men. It feels like another manifestation of how people can't picture gay couples as two men who just happen to love each without one party have to play "the woman" displaying all the worst femmey stereotypes.

Just have your couples adopt or use a surrogate. What's wrong with that?
