Yeah I used to find these shows funny as a kid, because the idea that aliens did all of that was absurd so they were fun to laugh at. Growing up and realising that there were adults who 100% believed the BS these shows spouted made it harder to find them funny. Not to mention how fast these conspiracy's devolve into racism.

I'm autistic and also don't like most autistic characters, mostly because a lot of writers seem to think that "being autistic" is a substitute for "having a personality." Tangentially, I also resent the widespread infantilisation of autistic characters (or even headcanoned characters... no, a 40-year-old, Gen X autistic man's sensory meltdown probably won't look like hyperventilating and swaddling himself in a weighted blanket or holding stuffies).

The other part of this secret though, lol

What is everyone doing this weekend?

I'm driving to visit my sister tomorrow. Saturday/Sunday I don't think we will do much. We are going to watch a couple of horror movies we've been looking forward to.

On Monday we are going to the Tulsa State fair to look at the exhibits and eat weird food. Tuesday, I'll be driving home.
