Maybe it is the "hatred" part. I think dislike is normal but hating seems a more passionate response that could signal a deeper emotional reasoning or motivation to some. Or maybe not.

Because watching cooking shows with meat and eating meat aren't the same thing? I've been veg* for over 20yrs and I find all sorts of cooking shows relaxing. It's all good, enjoy your zen where you can find it these days.

I honestly never read his twitchiness as specifically drug-related. More of a slight tendency towards mania, I guess, which felt like more the cause than the result of his drug use. But I can see how YMMV on how much you’d like that interpretation too.

I’d be curious if there are other live-action adaptations that are closer to the Holmes you like.

I have tried to watch Paddington 2 twice now and found myself distracted/zoning out at the same point each time. My brother keeps egging me to watch it because he loves it so much.

I think there are specific things I could point to in Paddington that I think are very well done, but they don’t necessarily produce the same reaction in all people, of course.

Paddington 2 left less of an impression on me. Perhaps a bit of diminishing returns on the tone and setting from the first one.

And I thought the third one was rather lacking.

An author I was going to try had a "Honey Warning" at the start of their book, where they would put a beehive picture before a sex scene so if you want you can skip it. It totally turned me off and I ended up skipping the whole book. So now I'm just curious how others feel about such a practice?

Let's presume that 1% of every fandom is crazy. With smaller fandoms, that's a manageable number. With the number of fans Taylor has, it really isn't. I don't think her intense fans are that much worse than anyone else's, but there's definitely more of them. They're well-organized as well.
