Lego Jurassic over the newer live actions movies and yet there's barely anything in the tags - Ninjago a bit more maybe, but I found that /searching/ for Lego not for Ninjago. So I can't replicate your experience.

I have tried to watch Paddington 2 twice now and found myself distracted/zoning out at the same point each time. My brother keeps egging me to watch it because he loves it so much.

I think there are specific things I could point to in Paddington that I think are very well done, but they don’t necessarily produce the same reaction in all people, of course.

Paddington 2 left less of an impression on me. Perhaps a bit of diminishing returns on the tone and setting from the first one.

And I thought the third one was rather lacking.

Maybe it is the "hatred" part. I think dislike is normal but hating seems a more passionate response that could signal a deeper emotional reasoning or motivation to some. Or maybe not.

I honestly never read his twitchiness as specifically drug-related. More of a slight tendency towards mania, I guess, which felt like more the cause than the result of his drug use. But I can see how YMMV on how much you’d like that interpretation too.

I’d be curious if there are other live-action adaptations that are closer to the Holmes you like.

I wholeheartedly agree!! It gives me the ick to compare inherently dangerous mutants to RL marginalized people. So many of the mutants are a threat to everyone but take steps to inhibit their mutations because it’s the “right” thing to do. That means that blacks and gays are inherently dangerous to the rest of society unless they choose not to be. Fucking yikes!

An author I was going to try had a "Honey Warning" at the start of their book, where they would put a beehive picture before a sex scene so if you want you can skip it. It totally turned me off and I ended up skipping the whole book. So now I'm just curious how others feel about such a practice?
