Arguably the point of tagging slash is that the character is not canonically queer, but we still have het tags... dunno why fandom has moved away from tags simply being neutral content markers but we have

I rarely see either slash or het as separate tags these days though. Sure, AO3 has categories for that but separate tags are rare. Mainly because it's usually obvious from the ship tag what it's going to be if you know the characters.
