Nope, it's dumb to tag every canon character trait. You tag things that differ from the canon depiction. So if you turn a canon trans character cis, sure, it should be tagged. Otherwise, as the anon above put it- nah.
And no, slash or het in itself rarely is a tag. You see if it's slash or het depending on which ship is tagged and if someone includes it in the category but that's it. Unless some genderbends one or more of the characters so the type of sexuality changes - then it should be tagged.

Slash absolutely used to be a tag, but we're a long time past that now!

Oh yes, it definitely used to be but it hasn't for a while. Some people still tag it but hell, I've seen the rare citrus-scale tags on occasion.
