I stopped talking to other fans and left the subreddit. I am finally watching the new series as a somewhat amusing show without feeling any angst about not finding it quite as hilarious as all the Real Fans seem to.

I think that discussion happens every new series, OP. There are always people who think it's not as funny, the cast isn't as good, the tasks aren't as creative, etc. They're not always wrong, but IME, there's always something fun and delightful about each new series even if it's not amazing.

Yeah I dipped my toe in the fandom/reddit space, thinking I'd share my joy with others, and noped out pretty fast. I think what you are doing actually sounds pretty healthy!

ur so real for this. the tm reddit is a cesspool of whiners and stats nerds, niether of which i am. i was much happier once i left there and found the kind of fans i vibe with. enjoy the show in the way that works for you, op.
