I hate it when people post photos of things they are selling on Reddit, and pretend like they just stumbled across it and bought it and are surprised by how cool it is. I see this for a lot of fandoms, and it rubs me the wrong way. Be honest about what you're doing, instead of lying.

Those are mostly bots. I know the FFXIV sub let them exist for a long time because it seems like a real person, but every post almost reads the same. Always some kind of mug or t-shirt that they claim is the best thing they've discovered. Then the scam continues with a couple of accounts asking where did they get it and they link some shady store. It takes a lot time to convince mods of it though.

Oh that would annoy me too! I've never run into that. I would automatically never buy from that person. Though I do get that probably a lot of them are bots. Doesn't lessen the annoyance.
