My sympathies, nonny. I see that pattern a lot, too... men who are husbands and fathers and are the "great guy who'd give you the shirt off his back" to his buddies, but meanwhile his wife is at home with two kids under age 10 while he's off on weekend golf trips, because "he deserves a break from work", and she's supposed to be grateful for her "break" when he agrees to watch his own kids for an hour while she's grocery shopping. Inevitably, the man thinks he's a superhero for being such a good, supportive husband and occasionally slipping into Fun Dad mode when he's not too busy or tired.

I hope you can get out.

Yup, this is exactly a kind of guy my father is. Minus watching me because that is what grandmothers are for.
