I hate that I hate Sister Sage more than Homelander, but I hate her more than him. Homelander is scary, but also just kinda pathetic and that is less scary. Sister Sage is hateable, scary, and gross. I really hate her. I want her beaten more badly than I want Homelander beaten.

Good job on the hateable characters, though, creators. Really nailed that evoking an emotional response in the audience thing.

I'm apprehensive about the new Harry Potter audiobooks. I listen to the old ones at night when I can't sleep, and I'm not sure that the new ones are going to be the same, so I think I am going to pass on them. They don't sound like they're going to be peaceful and soothing.

I am honestly tired of people using "get therapy" as an insult in fandom. Like dark ships or anything considered problematic?

You'll probably get told to "get therapy" by an anti or or someone else on a high horse. Do these people not realize it's not a therapist's job to turn people with "weird"/"cringey"/"problematic" interests or ships into normies?

"Get therapy" is the new "you need Jesus".

As a selfshipper I am tired of being told to go to therapy. I would honestly much rather be called a cringe weirdo than be told to get therapy. At least the person calling me weird/cringe isn't pretending to care about my mental health.

I could see it. I wouldn't have if someone didn't point it out, and I don't agree, but I could see where they're coming from.

Whenever a character enrages or provokes a strong negative reaction, I always try to console myself with the "well, I suppose it's good writing because it definitely evoked a strong emotional response" thing. Sometimes it makes me feel better about getting riled up, sometimes it doesn't.

They always repeat the phrase "get therapy" because they think it's an own or that therapy will completely rewire you. But in my experience most therapists support self-expression or coping through fiction, as long as it doesn't negatively impact your mental health or personal/professional life. So an anti tells you "go to therapy" over fics/ships, you do, and the therapist gives you a thumbs up, now what lol? I've never gotten an answer besides "get a new therapist"...

I think it's a valid take to read all the gems as Black - some of them definitely are coded that way, and why shouldn't the others be too? There's lots of ways to be Black and if we're going to code our aliens as one race or another, white is not the default culture of the galaxy.

But yeah if you're going to read her as Black but not Pearl or Peridot, you're invalid.

It shouldn't be peaceful and soothing. You should be anxious. Every second you listen, JKR is hurting more trans people.
