The rabbit's entire gang performed forced experiments on makaian children that mutilated them beyond recognition to turn them into footsoldiers, did not allow any of the refugees to leave their tenement under pain of violence or death, and set up the whole building as a suicide bomb.

Or did you miss that part. One of the experiments literally pleads for death.

The servants of Mundus looked non-human. The terrorists under the Rabbit looked non-human. Only the innocent refugees looked human. OP is correct and this is one of the insanest void-of-all-reading-comprehension takes I've seen in some time.
