I don't know why I love this book so much. I've read it at least 10 times. And while I do like the prequels/sequels done by Kevin J. Anderson and Herbert's son, they just don't measure up to the versions of the story in the Encyclopedia. I'm sad we never got to see this version play out.

Henry Cavill both looks and acting is so boring. I'm going to give the new Wicher a chance now. I saw Hemsworth and I don't understand why everybody hates him. Witcher's been a clown show that's not faithful to books since forever, it's not going to be any worse with the new actor.

I like Cavill as a person but seeing him on screen gets a nope from me. I even left the cinema in the middle of Superman VS Batman because I couldn't take this movie anymore.

Honestly I think he will do a good job. And I don’t think it matters because he’s greenlit for the final season (that’s already filming). Witcher fans won’t be any more likely to watch. Half of the Netflix Witcher fans are going to hate watch it and a quarter aren’t going to care and so we’re going to watch whoever took over the role.

I like Henry Cavill but thought he looked terrible as Geralt. But Geralt is supposed to be ugly so it worked. I was just hoping at the time the show was announced that we’d get hot Geralt like in The Wild Hunt game. And with Cavill being a fan and the show supposedly being made for fans and was going to be a faithful adaptation, I was pretty hopeful. I’ve always felt bad for him that he was duped along with the rest of us and how terrible it must have felt to be so powerless in that position. He clearly made every effort to make the show into what it was supposed to be and he suffered for that. I hope that the positives in his personal life at the time offset the shitshow that was his time as Geralt. And I applaud him for walking away and being so damn classy about it.

The Witcher was where I finally saw the appeal in Henry Cavill. I have always found Liam Hemsworth a bit bland, but in this photo I think he can pull off taking over Cavill's old role. I don't know how willing fans would be to receiving him as the new Geralt though.

On a personal level, seems like The Witcher is doing good things for actors I hadn't liked much before. Time to go read some Geralt fanfics now lmao

I’m asexual. That’s what I tell people.

But if we’re getting technical I am graysexual - every once in a blue moon, particularly when I feel sad stressed and limerent I end up feeling weird random bouts of attraction. I fear my body thinks “if nothing is going right/you’ll die at least have sex before going” and turns on that side. Pun not intended.

This is about a celebrity. A younger guy. I’m too ashamed to name him (cursed with falling for 6ft tall twinks) but I will say I stared at his back for 15 minutes and could probably do it for hours just thinking Holy shit what a back I could CRY

An acquaintance I follow on insta keeps reposting those radfem reels in her stories that are often really close to all-out misandry. While the other half of what she reposts are all cringy obsessive thirst memes about male celebrities (mainly K-pop) and characters and for the latter especially the canonically abusive shadow daddy types (and similar).

And sure, you can absolutely like something in fiction that you don't condone irl but honestly, hardcore simping for and romanticising traits and people you spend a long time condemning is a bit like an outspoken vegan stanning a steakhouse.

One of my favorite things about Babylon 5 is how many awesome characters there are. And it isn't just the main ones that are allowed to shine. G'Kar and Vir are my favorites, and IMHO the ones who get the best overall arcs, but everyone is allowed to be interesting and go on a journey.

I have never been more glad that I'm a lone wolf Swiftie. In years past I've occasionally wished for others to squee with (and definitely a group to go to a tour or the tour movie with). But now, the negative hoopla around her new album is just everywhere.

I like the new album. It's not my favorite, but it's solid and I'm enjoying it, and I don't need anyone harshing my happy with it. And by God it is so easy to just not click on links to stuff I know I'm not gonna like to see.
