I'm just gonna play devil's advocate asshole here and say if they identify as a woman, I'm gonna call them a woman.

Second of all, judging them to be anti-yaoi on the basis of a chick looking like a woman, having a woman, etc.? You're a twat. I haven't read or watched SS, but then again I'm also pretty sure you can call a woman a fag. Maybe she's a lesbian (again, obviously eligible for being contradicted by canon...).

I am not familiar with the fandom; however, there is the possibility that said character could be a trans woman. The word most commonly translated as "fag" (okama) into English can also mean "MtF crossdresser" or "transgirl", since back in the olden days in Japan prior to the Western gay-rights movement they were assumed to be the same thing. Before you say anything, I'd be okay with either possibility; I am a yaoi fan (see my icon). However, I also think that there needs to be more transpeople in comics. So say what you will.

Okay, first I have to point out that I have never read Saint Seiya and have no measure of the fandom's anti-yaoi/homophobia. I am, however, a transman and an LGBT supporter. Rather than Saint Seiya "finally" having a canon gay character, I think Saint Seiya has a transwoman character.

From what I can gather, Veronica identifies as female. If you have any counterpoints at all, make your argument.

I think the mix of music and visuals of "Blink" did it in for me, but you're right - the clockwork dudes in "Girl in the Fireplace" definitely made me jump in my seat. No surprise though...
