Hey there, anon, you're not at all obvious to me. Come and join the bit of the fandom that

phaetonschariot was talking about, and you'll find people there who'll respect your shipping preferences and don't bother bashing characters!

What part of the fandom is this?? Not the OP, but I'm curious. I've been way too scared to join the fandom due to fear of being skewered. :/

There's a bunch of people on Twitter who basically just talk about the show (and about everything else!) without being bitchy to each other. You'll find a lot of them at the Torchwood Writer's Union (http://z9.invisionfree.com/twu/index.php), too, but that forum is pretty quiet -- twitter and LJ are much more active. If you're not established on Twitter, make sure there's something that links you to fandom in your profile, so that people don't think you're a spambot (I am rememberiloveu on Twitter, and it didn't twig for AGES that people would think that I was a spambot because I chose a bloody stupid name!)
