I learned that Jude Law had a main role in a historically inaccurate and insulting movie that harmed real people by promoting wrong ideas and stereotypes and teaching viewers wrong ideas about history. His Watson is dead for me now. No, I can't separate art from reality when art has his face.

Me. The movie grew arms and legs and walked up to me on the sidewalk and punched me in the face. I don't know what I did to deserve that, I'd never even heard of it before!

Shocking! A working actor's agent got him a part in a movie he probably knew nothing about going in and he did it. Like that THIS is what ruined him for you?? I understand people who can't enjoy him in things because of Dumbledore, though at the time he first signed on I don't recall her having gone fully mask-off and he probably said yes before seeing the script.

Nine times out of ten I think cancelling actors for taking roles is dumb, because a lot of times they have no idea why a certain project might be bad, but I do guess I understand not wanting to look at someone's face after they get associated with the wrong thing.

I am confused....
The actor acted in a movie with alledged real world harm and that's why you.... hate another role he played? This secret says "his Watson is dead to me" not the actor, just that one other role Jude Law also played.
Because your brain links those roles together? So, in your headcanon that soldier character he played in this movie is the past version of his Watson?
But then shouldn't the things that other characters has done in the movie (like in-universe stuff) colour your perception of Watson and not what harm Jude Law's character has caused with that movie in our real world?!
Pick a lane. Or just hate Jude Law and everything he does now XD
It just doesn't make sense one way or another, your brain is inconsistent!
