That was exactly what I was going to ask. Just because you can combine two people's names, doesn't mean you should.

I've noticed that most Heroes shipnames are carcrashes.

More like two names crashing into each other and then EXPLODING.

i just can't seem to see sylar/mohinder. i wish i could and i've tried to read fic (which was, admittedly, not very good), but i just can't.

Not the OP, but I can understand where you're coming from. Personally, I can only ship Sylar/Mohinder in a one-sided, super creepy, non-con kind of way. The fact that people actually write fluff for this pairing really confuses me. o_O

maybe nathan/peter could have a fluff moment or two? MAYBE.

i just cannot grasp the idea of sylar in a healthy relationship, let alone with someone whose father he killed. non-con isn't my type of thing, so that possibility out too. D:

This is how the fluff works:

Mohinder/Sylar = pure explosive murderous hate in canon. Mohinder would attack Sylar with a q-tip if he thought there was even the slightest chance he could kill Sylar. Therefore, crack fluff = instant LOLs. The fluffy-fluff (when properly addressing the murderousRAR part of pairing and allowing the characters to grow) is fun for many of the same reasons people love Pride and Prejudice - the initial antagonism of the characters makes the sweet parts sweeter.

I would have thought most people in Heroes fandom multi ship (I know I do). For a start, the plot and characterisation frequently makes so little sense that it doesn't seem to matter if the fic doesn't either. :-P

I just always thought that 85% of the fun in Heroes was shipping everybody with everybody else at any given time.

With all that pretty, it would be rude not to. (I need to find some kind of fandom migration thingy to see where the people writing Heroes fic came from because there does seem to be a rather high proportion of crack/everybody shags everybody.)
