YES YES A MILLION TIMES YES. When people say it's not based on canon, I get rather confused, at least from the canon I've read. It seems... almost moreso than the old movies (Watson DOESN'T SUCK AT LIFE and Holmes IS ACTUALLY BEING SHIFTY/KICKING ASSES). It looks like it's going to be wonderful, and I have faith in RDJ as an actor to pull Holmes off.

I read that on TV Tropes too! I think it's so cool and that's pretty much my excuse for the movie too. ^_^

Everything you said. I love love love Sherlock Holmes, but I'm not in the Holmes fandom. Their reaction at first completely baffled me and then was just *eyeroll*. It's not identical to the books! It's faithful to the books, and that's a different thing.

I'm so looking forward to this movie. I've had a crush on Watson since forever, and JUDE LAW makes it even better :D

I guess I am thankful I know no one in the Holmes fandom. I've read all of the stories, and I'm crazy excited to see it. I may even see it on opening day. I hope you end up enjoying it!
