Owen love is always appropriate. (I love Tosh too, but if it's either/or...Owen all the way.)

I don't hate the girls, but Simon and Spike are two of my favourite characters.

I love all those characters, though I admit I prefer Willow a bit over Spike and Simon over Inara. Owen and Tosh are equal.

Love for Owen can never be wrong... :P

Now, are you SURE the top bunch aren't "not your favorites" because they're all women???? Because if they're not your favorite the only reasonable explanation is that you're a self-hating misogynist.

After all, one must like all female characters because their gender is the most important and distinctive thing about them. Clearly.

(To be fair, I can see why the secret does make me look a bit methinks-the-misogynist-doth-protest-too-much, given the choice of characters, but posting a whole list of my reasons and the female characters I do like and admire would seem a touch defensive...)

I was totally just mocking all the people who leap on the "MISOGYNIST! RACIST!! PANIC!!!" bandwagon and didn't actually think the label applied. Should remember to use a sarcasm tag or something.

No, I'm sure it's PURE COINCIDENCE that you hate female characters and love male ones.

I don't hate female characters, although I can see why the secret would give that impression. My favourite characters unsurprisingly do tend to be women, which is partly why this is a secret - since I'm somewhat guilty about my preference for the typical bad-boy characters in these particular fandoms (er, with the exception of Simon...).

I love Tosh, but WORD on Willow and Inara. Willow's character was ruined (which, honestly, can be pinned on MARTI FRIGGIN' NOXON but hey) in the latter seasons, and Inara just bored me, which really I think speaks to Morena Baccarin more than it does to Whedon.

I also loved Spike, Owen, and Simon, so. *shrug*

TBH I think I would have liked Tosh if she'd got more development - she was definitely short-changed by the writers there. My main cause of dislike for her is that the friend mentioned in the secret raves about her incessantly and bashes Owen at every opportunity - which is very irrational of me but what can ya do?
