Top favorite characters

Who are your absolute favorite characters? What is it that makes them so great for you?

Steve Rogers is the number one. I just love his character (as long as Whedon isn't around). He's heroic and caring and brave. Plus, Chris Evans gives him a pretty face and body. ;)

I do love Steve. He's complicated and interesting. I hate the end of his journey, but I love the best of it. And he's realistic, someone who clearly went through trauma and was affected by it.

YES. Fandom Steve is excellent (mostly), comic Steve is great, movie Steve is awesome...until the asshat just comes along and fucks it all up.

I think my top favorite character is G'kar from Babylon 5. He goes on the most amazing journey through his whole arc, and he becomes such an inspiration.

I wouldn't call him a top fave, but I do love him. Honestly, most of the Buffy characters, with a few exceptions, were really great.

This always feels impossible to answer because so many of my favorite characters can't really be separated from their dynamics with other great characters. Examples of this are:

The entire main cast of Andor
The entire main cast of S1 Arcane
The entire main cast of Halt And Catch Fire
John, Sarah, and Cameron from Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
At least half the cast of Battlestar Galactica

Then there's characters I think are phenomenal, but not in a way that makes them attractive in a "blorbo" capacity. For example:

Rustin Cohle from True Detective S1
Don Draper and Peggy Olsen from Mad Men
Fleabag

Then there are characters I love in a fanfic capacity, but if I'm being objective, the canonical character is not really the character I love, e.g.:

Both Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter
MCU Peter Parker
Most of the characters involved in one of my current OTPs

I find it genuinely difficult to pick favorite characters I love on their own, as they are in canon. These are the ones who come to mind at the moment:

Dana Scully
MCU Tony Stark
Laurent from Captive Prince
Lisbeth Salander (mostly the Fincher version)
Lex Luthor in the first couple seasons of Smallville
Sophia Falcone from The Penguin
