I watch cdramas, looked at this series and thought nah, this is definitely going to be silly. Most xianxia cdramas suffer from really bad pacing and storytelling, IMO, even the ones everyone gushes about like Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms and Ashes of Love.

I don't think ALL cdramas are like that, but... it's a recurring issue. Especially if romance is a major plotline.
