Kinda inspired by 4 and young witches in the alps

What's something you think you'd be a fan of, if only one thing about it were slightly different?

What's the thing?

So I've been out of the loop and I had to look up what "young witches in the alps" was and just went down a rabbit hole reading 'know your meme' page about it and now I'm just sitting here confused why that persons tweet garnered so much hate.

We had a secret about that a while back. Let me see if I can find it

omg haha thank you for looking that up! That secret is pretty much where I'm at right now and I was actually thinking "should I make a secret about this reaction?" But someone beat me to it!

I'd have loved Avatar the Last Airbender if I had watched it when I was young. Sadly, I missed out on it.

If "Bob" in the Bobiverse books was a woman I think I'd be more into them.

Assassin's Creed Shadows if it would have had a male Japanese protagonist as well instead of Yasuke. Several reasons: 1. There is a real issue with male Asian representation in western video games and the first mainline AC game set in an Asian country should not have been another example. 2. No AC game actually had a historical figure as a player character and it's weird to suddenly start with that in this case. They could have made Yasuke an important NPC instead and it would have been fine. 3. Historical accuracy aside (it IS an AC game after all), it's kind of a weird vibe to have a burly black foreigner slaughtering the native population left and right.

Well, there are several universes that I find interesting with media formats that I don't do. I'm glad we've now gotten Warcraft and Dungeons and Dragons movies that I can enjoy. But I'd love to see Warcraft, D&D, Elder Scrolls, and Warhammer/Warhammer 40k as tv shows.

I don't know about now, but when I was a teen/20-something I would've been addicted to those YA urban fantasy books about a normal nice girl meeting a bad boy who's some sort of supernatural creature... if the genders were flipped.

So really, I should be glad they weren't.

Dragon Quest (and Dragon Quest Builder) seems very much like my jam mechanically, but I don't enjoy the art... but even more than THAT, I see Stardew Valley recommended so MUCH and like... I've been obsessed with Rune Factory, played Harvest Moon before that and Story of Seasons since, Coral Island, etc... but I just REALLY cannot stand looking at Stardew Valley. I respect that a lot of people love the pixel art, I do not think it is 'bad', I just can't enjoy it. I'm glad that it's something people get a lot of enjoyment out of and if it has contributed in even the smallest ways to more options and more QUEER options in farming sims, it deserves my gratitude for that! It's purely a question of art style. And this is from someone who did grow up with older games where pixelated was as good as it got, I'm just apparently really picky about it now.

(and yeah, I'm a little bitter that every time a new life/farming sim comes out, Stardew Valley is the go-to comparison by people who aren't familiar with older farming sims! That is entirely on me, I'm sure a lot of people making those comparisons just played Stardew Valley first and that's fair! That is why I try to keep my petty venting to the appropriate venues)

I get you. I have played Stardew Valley A LOT but I do wish it had better pixel art. Like, props to the developer and all but it's just not very pretty. I use a ton of mods to pretty it up a bit but they can only do so much.

I still rewatch occasionally, so I already like it, but I think The Day After Tomorrow would have been better if Sam was a girl.
