The existence of horror versions of Disney movies makes my heart hurt.

Could be worse.

Google "Wally Wood Disneyland Memorial" if you dare.

Damn, that's proto-rule 34.

I unironically enjoyed this one!

Compared to Winnie The Pooh Kills People this Bambie The Reckoning fucking rocks.

I'll comment below for spoilers/gore.

Ok! So! Four things come together to make this movie hilarious
1) there is like 4 acres of forest in the whole movie. This is set in England (I think?) and those mother fuckers don't have *any* wilds left ok? This monster is just a moose with *slightly* more attitude.
2) Everyone is *so* mean to the mom and son, I mean, just, DAMN bitch! They were in a car crash! They *absolutely* just saw a man die and were chased through the woods! Can you chill out about how late they were to dinner?????
3) A tertiary character shows up out of NOWHERE in the third act. Who is she? When did she get here? Chill out man. Who cares. She'll be dead in a moment.
4) Again, this is England. No one knows how to handle a gun. It's amazing. Idk how much of it is the actors and how much is the characters but I was ROLLING <3<3<3 And then!
4.5) Bambie has a lower kill count that human incompetence and that fucking rules too <3

Things that unironically spooked/impressed me:
1) The opening animation. Much like Pooh's Murder Corner the little animation at the beginning is so sweet and stylized and neat.
2) Grandma's murder deer paintings fucking rule. I'd put one on my wall. Is she psychic? Was I on my phone during the explanation? I don't care.
3) The bit with the lights??? Yes.
4) The bit where he goes up the stairs?????!????? Killer. For ONE TIME ok ONE TIME in a horror movie going upstairs seemed like a good idea because surly this big honking critter can't make it up there BUT HE COULD! WOOOOO!
5) The (human) dad just fucking sucks! And he doesn't change! And he gets Rabbit of Caerbannog'd! And then you compare that to Bambie who is SUCH a loving dad, ok? Just, let me get a little teary eyed. I'm fine.
6) JFC that roadhauling scene was fucked up. That kid and baby bambie are both going to end up as serial killers. I hope they team up! I'd be here for a sequel.

Things that disappointed me:
1) When the mean sister in law gets cut in half I think it would have been *SO* much cooler if she was gored by his antlers and then Bambie rears up while she's screaming and bleeding in his antlers and he's backlit and huge and scary and then BAM he slams down to all fours and she is forced further onto the antlers and is just shredded. I know they didn't have a budget for it but I think it could have been SUPER cool <3
2) I couldn't tell you a single character's name
3) The quails should have gotten a kill =[

No wilds and no one can handle a gun?

Wow, way to show off how you know nothing about England. 👍🏻

I have a theory that only absolute freaks use the white-skinned emojis. This is exhibit 9c.

The white people use them too. Weird I know.

DA, yeah I don't even like horror but ngl a Bambi revenge movie sounds fucking awesome.

The title of this could have just been "Are you tired of being nice? Don't you just want to go ape shit?" And I would have watched it. Bambie, alone among all Disney stars, deserves VENGEANCE!

Unrelated but one of the first fanfics I ever read was a Winnie the Pooh gorefest called Pooh Goes Apeshit.

What upsets you about it? Is it the idea of something cute being mocked or "tainted"? People will always make dark parodies of innocent things but that doesn't take away from the original, it's just another version of the story for people with that sense of humor. Some people get a laugh from irreverence and gross out comedy, some don't, but that type of parody existing is harmless if you ignore it. I understand being upset by things for personal reasons though.

No, I get it, I'm a huge Muppet fan and I don't like adult Muppet parodies like Kermit Sings Hurt or stuff like that. There's so few good things in the world I just choose not to look at parodies that "Sully" Muppets.

DA - yeah I feel this way too. I hate Muppet parodies or even when the Muppets will show up on talk shows and be all edgy with (imo) out of character jokes etc. Idk just rubs me wrong.

The Muppets have never been absolutely pure. They had a special called Sex and Violence, but it's all in good natured fun. I mean, there's a Meet the Feebles joke in the new Muppets Mayhem show.

Honestly, same. I can't even really describe why, but I don't like it.

These movies always remind me of the time I complimented a woman on her Totoro purse and she immediately started to lecture me about how he's REEEEEEALLY a death god and those girls are REEEEEEALLY dead (and when she saw me rolling my eyes she started gloating about ruining my childhood...lady, I just thought your purse was cute!). I dunno, "what if Cute Nice Thing was ACKSHULLY dark and fucked up?????" just feels so lazy and edgy-middle-schooler to me.
